Reading right now:
“Cold Florida” by Phillip Depoy. I
enjoyed all of Depoy’s unusual Fever Devilin series and just started his latest
and newest series which features Foggy Moskowitz, former car thief and current
sleuth working for the Office of Child Protective Services in Florida. It’s
1974 and the Brooklyn born and raised Moskowitz is very hands on and very
unorthodox. Depoy creates usual and entertaining characters and so far Foggy is
almost as fascinating as Fever Devilin. Absolutely worth reading and already
hoping for more in the series.
“The Last Mile,” by David
Baldacci. Whenever I find out another Baldacci book is coming out, I am all
smiles. Last year in “Memory Man” Baldacci introduced Amos Decker, a cop whose career
was destroyed by his wife’s murder. He is now working with the FBI and finds
himself intrigued by a convicted murderer on death row who is granted a reprieve
when someone else confesses to the crime. Decker is a great new character and I
cannot wait to read the new installment.
